'My Spirituality as an Atheist'
I don't agree with the use of the word 'spirit/spirituality' but this kind of idea, this "essence of human" is what enables me as an atheist to breathe vacancy day by day. An enriched understanding and appreciation of beauty seems the only way to devoid life of absurdity. Not necessarily meaning or significance but simply "to feel wonder, to be in awe" and to allow my senses to marvel in the world.
I have never understood it this way and this video did a great way of explaining! I think I will go watch it again now :)
ReplyDeleteThis was so intriguing to me because I DO believe in a ghostly ethereal thingy within, or the supernatural, and I don't use 'bless you' for rhetoric's sake. And it expanded my understanding of other people because I don't often think about what people may be thinking about the essence of human. I know that the people I meet with every week DO ponder upon mysteries and spirits - and yet I haven't thought about Atheists pondering upon the wonders of the universe and the feeling of awe. Thanks for posting this, Jess :).
